Why I Make It Home:
After 25 years in the design world, I knew that comfort and beauty weren’t luxuries—they were lifelines. I started Make It Home to ensure foster youth and families leaving crisis have more than just four walls—they have a welcoming place that says, “You belong here.”

Chief Community Impact Officer

Why I Make It Home:

After years in direct homelessness services, I saw how often newly housed neighbors were expected to rebuild stability in empty spaces without the basic furnishings that make a place feel like home. Make It Home feels deeply aligned with my experience by directly addressing that gap by creating dignified, fully furnished spaces that support confidence, belonging, and long-term stability.

Why I Make It Home:

I’ve always been environmentally conscious and passionate about helping people get back on their feet. Through my time at Make It Home, I learned how impactful furniture waste can be and how redirecting it into fully furnished homes creates lasting stability for families. Every day, it’s incredible to see the environmental and human impact come together in such a tangible way.

Because Make It Home has a mission that uplifts those who likely feel unseen. In addition, the framework for doing so involves many engaged, thoughtful, and creative volunteers. It is a genuine success story and a community of which I am proud to be a part.

Why I Make It Home:

Years of working with furniture and design showed me how much perfectly good stuff goes to waste—while families nearby go without. I wanted work that felt truly impactful—and Make It Home delivers exactly that, diverting furniture from landfills and placing it in homes where it's needed.
